[sCreaLab] Scene Creation Laboratory

1. Call for partners

Acciones Imaginarias is looking for partnership to teach this workshop during the 2009 Fall Semester and the 2010 Spring Semester.

The workshop's main objective is to increase young artists communicative possibilities through their own experience in scenics.

Performing Arts Festivals, Cultural Practitioners, NGO's, Museums, etc. as local partners are invited to suggest and to participate in fitting the workshop to local conditions. Local workshop assistants would be accepted as pedagogical extension.

2. Workshop Overview

2.1. Description

This workshop explores through creAction the possibilities of own-presence in artistic communication.

2.2. Participants

Art students, individual artists, artist-partnerships, groups and collectives from any artist language interested in live interactions through scenic technologies.

Musicians and visual artists, writers... and of course actors and dancers will be welcomed to explore the boundaries of their trained disciplines.

2.3. Applications

Both individual as collective artists should attach to the application form the description of a project to develop during the workshop according to a suggested template.

Without interfering in the participants' self-autonomy, coaching and project tutoring aim

2.5. Contents

2.5.1. Theoretical

Theoretical contents take 1/6 of the total lective time.

Master classes, which may be free-access, deal with the following issues:

  • Live Arts, Performing Studies, Post-dramatic Theater.
  • Public Sphere and Democracy, Art and Citizenship.
  • Esfera pública y democracia, arte y ciudadanía.

Bibliographies and other resources will be provided.

2.5.2. Practical

Practical contents take 5/6 of the total lective time

  • Body, time and space awareness

CREATIVE PROCESSES

  • Participants' projects will be created, discussed, recreated, rehearsalled and finally audience-presented during the workshop

2.6. Teachers

2.6.1. Ruben Vejabalbán

is an artist with experience in theater direction, photography, music and literature. He is a graduate in Communication (UCM 1998), Master in Creativity (UCM 2004) and Specialist in Education, Languages and Media (UNSAM 2008) thanks to a MAE-AECID grant. He has enjoyed a pre-doctoral residence in the University of São Paulo (2004-2005) and actually he is about to end his PhD research in Art Education.

2.6.2. Eva Egido Leiva

is an actress, dramatist, and theatre producer with experience in large international tournées in Latino America. Graduate in Acting (RESAD 2002) and in Spanish Philology (UNED 2004), she has specialized herself in Theater Pedagogy after granted residences in Brazil and Argentina.
